Job description

We are looking for a Business Development Manager. In this role, you will be prospecting and developing new business leads in the alternative investment industry. The most successful applicants will be those that already have extensive contacts in the alternative asset industry. As part of the business development process, you will be assisted by our technical experts and service delivery professionals. You will be facilitating the business development process by performing the following:

 

  • Developing a working knowledge of our service offerings
  • Attending industry events to develop leads
  • Making sales calls to your network in the alternative asset industry
  • Identify prospective customers
  • Qualify the level of opportunity and type of account
  • Forecast time frames to close business
  • Assist in preparing quotes and coordinate with marketing department on service agreements
  • Track customer satisfaction levels and assess additional revenue opportunities
  • Develop strategies to cross sell to our existing clients
  • Develop short term, mid-range and long-term goals and track performance
  • Values excellent service and strives to go above and beyond in their client and staff interactions  
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders 
  • Exudes a spirit of entrepreneurship, seeking to solve problems and improve processes
  • Seeks to continually learn and expand their industry and technical knowledge
  • Brings a positive attitude and excitement for the work they are doing

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would:

 

  • Have 5+ years of related industry experience
  • Have extensive contacts in the alternative asset industry
  • Successfully leverage extensive contacts in exceeding sales goals
  • Have prior business development and sales experience
  • Be organized, detail oriented and deadline driven
  • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Would enjoy working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Have proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), SharePoint, WordPress or equivalent website platform and CRM software
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven, dynamic environment
