Job description

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Group Technology Compliance Manager to join our team and lead on the group-wide design, implementation, and ongoing development of Group Technology controls framework for Group Technology.  You’ll develop a Group-wide framework of key technology controls, IT governance policies and processes through collaboration with global technology teams and external partners, ensuring it is appropriate and comprehensive in alignment with our Group Technology strategy and roadmap.  In addition, you will lead on the response to client pre-sales questions and documentation relating to Group Technology, in collaboration with the marketing, sales and information security teams. 

You’ll have a strong background and experience in Group Technology internal controls, internal audit, external and/or risk related roles with Technology.  This will include experience working in assessment of policies and standards, risk scoring, assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of mitigating controls and recommending improvements to control design.  You’ll have strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance environments and ability to apply it appropriately.

Strong technical and process knowledge within Group Technology is required including security, system development and project management processes. You’ll bring knowledge of key technology frameworks CRISC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001 is ideal, as well as a professional qualification such as CISA, CISM and/or ITIL.

The role requires you to have the ability to communicate clearly and with impact in a fast-paced and high pressure situations including the ability to challenge and influence the view of senior stakeholders respectfully, confidently, and effectively to bring a new perspective.

Qualifications

Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis)

  • Taking the lead on developing a Group Technology Control Framework, Policies and Standards, ensuring they support compliance to relevant regulation/requirements
  • Taking the lead on building and maintaining a central Group Technology Risks and Issues register for BAU/Change and taking ownership for creating and executing plans with risk owners
  • Taking responsibility for quarterly Group Technology and Security key controls reporting and validation activities with Group Technology and Security stakeholders for reporting to Audit Committee
  • Leading in designing and agreeing a system of assurance on Group Technology controls with key stakeholders, considering how testing will be performed, the evidence required, frequency, risk focus etc.
  • Establishing a systematic and disciplined approach across Group Technology functions to manage Group Technology Risk Management through quarterly leadership and monthly risks management meetings
  • Liaising with key stakeholders (CIO Management, and reports, Security, BDO, Deloitte) on various governance, risk, and audit related matters
  • Providing strong central oversight to deliver consistency and quality in audit and compliance work (Internal Audit and BDO/Deloitte External Audit) across the function / wider business. You’ll be primary point of contact for Group Technology participation in internal and external audits
  • Following up on Internal audit actions and monthly reporting to CIO Management and quarterly reporting updates to External/Internal Audit
  • Taking responsibility for the annual update of Group Technology Key Controls Group Assurance Map

Education / professional qualifications

  • CRISC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001 certification essential
  • A Microsoft certification would be advantageous
  • A project management certification would be beneficial

 

Background experience

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Technical

  • Possess a strong background within a heavily regulated industry focusing on IT risk, compliance, and audits
  • Must possess a proactive, client centric, “can-do” attitude, and be willing to get things done

 

Computer / program knowledge

  • Microsoft Office 365 product knowledge essential, experience of digital task management, automation, and workflows
  • Always preferring to implement digital and automation before paper-based controls

 

Company, product and market knowledge

  • Experience of working in a complex, multi-country professional services, financial services or BPO organisation with complex processing requirements preferred but not essential
  • Multi-country experience and demonstrates an ability to work in a multi-cultural, talented, and demanding team environment
  • Possess the skills and the personality to operate effectively in a very fast-paced complex global business with an in-depth knowledge of program management
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form, with staff members, customers, suppliers, and the management team with the ability to make decisions, act and get results
  • Passion, dynamism, and drive
  • Personal presence, integrity, and credibility
  • Ability to solve problems either independently or by utilizing other members of the team where necessary
