Junior Associate - Tax

Job description

  • Assist team members in all accounting and tax compliance duties for a portfolio of clients with varying level of complexity in order to ensure the smooth flow in the operations and meeting customer's expectations.
  • Respond to clients’ queries, under supervision where required, whether by telephone or in writing, in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Handle issue of invoices and follow up on debtors, scanning and filing of documents and any other cognate duties.
  • Ensure that time sheet is accurately updated.
  • Promote a positive attitude and team approach to customer relationships.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Assist in payroll administration for various clients, employees’ payslips, monthly PAYE return, annual employer returns, statement of emoluments and filing of employees/directors tax returns.
  • VAT returns – assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns on behalf of   clients.
  • Provide assistance to senior staff on various queries from MRA on tax returns submitted.
  • Assist in applying for occupation permits for expatriates.
  • Support the operations teams on various basic tax queries they/their clients may have.
  • Ensure protections of information assets of IQ-EQ MU and to abide by the ISMS in place at IQ-EQ MU.

Required Experience

Education / professional - Degree holder or partly qualified ACA or ACCA


Background experience  - 0 – 1 years’ experience

                                        - Experience in a similar role would be an advantage

                                        - Technical

                                        - Experienced in basic accounting
