Junior Depositary Officer

Job Description

Tasks 

  • Assist the officer and senior officer in safeguarding and verifying the ownership of their assets and monitor the performance of cash flow activities, including the review of valuations
  • Ensure we comply with the AIFMD requirements and keep up to date with legislation, professional standards and regulatory changes affecting the Luxembourg-domiciled funds, safeguarding us from potential risks
  • To perform cash monitoring and related reconciliations
  • Understand the Funds and investment structures, the transactions put in place, and the instruments used
  • Ensure the supervision of the activity and the transactions initiated by the Funds, including obtaining the relevant transactional documents (e.g. minutes, purchase agreements, notarial deeds, subscription documents etc.)
  • Ensure the appropriate maintenance of the depositary records and internal dashboards
  • Assist the officer and senior officer in the preparation and issuance of the internal periodical reports (KPIs) on the fund’s portfolio
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of the confirmation of the year-end asset positions
  • Assist the officer and senior officer in maintaining the relationship with clients/AIFM, internal and external service providers such as CA, TA, advisors, auditors, credit institutions etc
  • Ensure high responsiveness and timely delivery with high-quality services
  • Gives regular feedback to the supervisor
  • Escalate without delay issues and risks identified
  • Complies with the internal policies and procedures

Qualifications

Must have

  • Preferably a University Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 1-2 years of experience in the area of depositary/custody function gained in a depositary bank or similar experience gained in an audit or fund accounting role
  • Exposure to global external auditing processes or investment fund
  • Private Equity / Real Estate markets experience
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools (Word and Excel in particular)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

Nice to have

  • Fund accounting experience (is an asset)
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment for depositaries
  • Knowledge or exposure to Alternative Investment Fund Directive or AIF
  • Current and former employees in top global auditing firms are an advantage
