Aware NI was unanimously chosen as the charity for the year by the Belfast office. In a time where we have all been working from home for the best part of a year and social interaction has been significantly reduced due to distancing measures it is apparent that our office recognises more than ever the importance of looking after not only our physical but our mental health. Choosing a mental health charity demonstrates our offices commitment to tackling & supporting positive mental health to all staff.
It is an extremely difficult time for so many people and by choosing AWARE NI as this year’s Charity, the Belfast office will be helping to support those in Northern Ireland affected by depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. This charity continues to try and provide support for those who need it the most and by raising funds we allow them to move their support services online.
The money raised will be going towards general support for the charity’s mental health programme
This year, we have already held a Valentines’ Day Raffle, which included prizes such as flowers, hampers or a night away! We also hosted a wine tasting event and will be having a week of activities later in May/June to align with AWARE’s 25 birthday.
We ask for donations via JustGiving every Friday in lieu of our Friday bucket collection. If you would like to donate, please do so here: IQ-EQ Belfast Charity is fundraising for Aware (justgiving.com)
AWARE will also be providing Mindfulness sessions during Mental Health Awareness Week. We are also hoping to support AWARE through our staff volunteering programme.
